Last Chance Forever

Last Chance Forever hosted a presentation at the Minnesota State Fair at the DNR building. They do this every year and have been frequent visitors to Rennaisance Festivals near you.

They do remarkable work in rehabilitating birds of prey with the primary goal of returning them to the wild, as the hunters they normally are.

Hawks, falcons, owls, osprey, vultures and eagles keep our world in harmony and we need to do everything in our power to keep them thriving for they protect the balance of nature.

For instance, one Barn Owl will eat approximately 2500 mice/rats in a single year. Now multiply that times the average of 5 babies they have every year and after one year you have the ability to remove over 15000 mice/rats from your area.

Please support your local raptor center and/or Last Chance Forever. It's only common sense conservation.

Cheers

Auto History by Mert

Scanned in some photos from my Dad's album today. And here's a little photo history from Mert.
Dad's first car was a 1940 Ford. It was his Dad's (C.W.). C.W. traded the 1940 Ford in on at a dealership in Williston for $200 on a 1954 Chevy. The salesman asked C.W. if Mert had a car and C.W. said, "No." The salesguy said, "Come back tomorrow and we'll set him up."
So, they went back the next day and Dad bought the 1940 Ford for $100. Ok, now my first question is how does a dealership make money when they lose money on a deal. but they gained a customer. Maybe that's it.

A few years later, Mert lined up the cars in front of their house in Wheelock, ND and took this photo.
From left to right is: Mert's 1947 Ford, Grandpa's 1954 Chevy, Grandpa's 1929 Model A (Dad still owns this) and Grandpa's 1938 Chevy. Also are pictured Grandpa and Skipper.

Makes you wonder how much these vehicles would be worth if they had been able to keep them in the family.
Peace!
